About the Project
The project consisted of the renovation, reprogramming and expansion of the classrooms and support spaces to the existing Eva Turner Elementary School building. The work included demolition, renovation and targeted additions to create a new single story building totaling 71,064sf to include classroom spaces, cafeteria, gymnasium, resource and storage spaces, administration offices and rooms to support building operations. A new interior courtyard open to the sky will be incorporated to bring natural daylight into the most interior classroom spaces of the building. There were also site improvements made, which included removal of existing modular trailers and associated utilities. The site was also modified to accommodate the larger expanded building as well as provide additional parking, a new loading area, a trash enclosure and fire truck turn-around. Existing utility connections were modified to accommodate the larger building.
